Choose the voltage you want your bank to supply.
Enter the length & width of your Battery Tray.
Enter the minimum total Ahs you need from your bank.
Enter the maximum that you want to pay.
Click on "Normal Report" and possible configurations will be shown below

Left/Right click on a column heading to move the column to the left/right.
The report is always sorted on the first two columns shown.
This utility is intended to show total capacity (Ah) and cost (₤) of various
multiples of batteries that can fit in your narrowboat battery tray.
Check all results independently before parting with cash as it may contain errors and
out of date information.
Only batteries from the following are included.
Tayna's Leisure range as shown on their website.
Bimble's NiFe range (basic units) as shown on their website.
It only considers multiples of the same battery.
It will happily use multiples of lower voltages to make banks of higher voltage.
It does not attempt to fill remaining tray holes with similar smaller batteries.
It does not consider configurations using more than 20 batteries.
It only tries simpler configurations of lengthways and sideways batteries in the tray.

The data on here may be wrong or out of date.
Check dimensions in particular as retailers sometimes disagree with manufacturers.
Do you have sufficient access to get the batteries into your tray, eg headroom?
Check that you are not missing good cost/capacity combinations by using the full
tray reporting option. Sometimes non-full tray arrangements can be cheaper.
Tighten the constraints to reduce the report length to a manageable size:
Specifying the remaining constraints is optional. These are:
Select the level of reporting required.
Some columns will not be shown unless the appropriate constraint is selected:
The report has one line for every configuration of batteries that satisfy the constraints.
The values shown are (not necessarily in this order)
|Bank Cost||Tayna web-published quantity discounts are not included|
|Bank Capacity||In Ah (at bank voltage)|
|Bank Cost per Ah||This is at the bank voltage not the battery voltage|
|Tray Area % used||Only shown if tray length and width specified|
|Tray Volume % used||Only shown if tray length and width AND height specified|
|Bank - no of bats||Number of batteries in the bank|
|Bank Layout||A possible orientation of the batteries in the tray|
|This utility attempts to fit the batteries into the tray with the|
|batteries' long side against the tray short side and then short side|
|to short side. This will discover most possible configurations but|
|not all. This column shows the first arrangement that was found that fits.|
|Battery Seller||This is the retailer's name|
|Battery Brand||This is the brand name|
|Battery Volts||This can be a sub-multiple of the required voltage eg 6V for a 12V bank.|
|Battery Terminals Type|
|standard automotive post|
|threaded male stud|
|standard automotive post with stud|
|standard automotive post with stud|
|embedded high profile threaded stud|
|automotive post with hole for horizontal bolt|
|a vertical lug with a hole in it through which a bolt may be fitted|
|a female threaded socket found on some AGM batteries|
|type not known at this time (but probably one of the above)|
|electrolyte accessible & requires water top-ups|
|electrolyte not accessible. No top-ups.|
|type not known at this time|
|Battery Capacity||- in Ah at the battery voltage not the bank voltage|
|Battery Cost||- per each. These are rounded off to the nearest sensible figure.|
|Battery Description||- not usually very helpful|
|Battery Dims||Height, Length, Width - in mm|
|Battery Weight||- in Kgs where known|
|Batteries/Voltage Set||- eg 2 for 6V batteries when 12V required|
|Battery Pos Terminal||Position - as Clock|
|Battery Neg Terminal||Position - as Clock|
The position of the terminals is given as numbers on a clock
face when viewing the battery from above with the longest
side of the case nearest to you and the posts nearest or
to the left of you.
